Root-Up 4000

The Root-Up 4000 is designed for effective root weed control. It collects material using closely spaced tines on the rotor, which rotate opposite to the direction of travel, while the soil is separated from the material on the cleaning conveyor.

The cleaned material is evenly spread on the soil surface, promoting rapid drying and reducing the risk of regrowth. The machine offers flexible solutions, including collection boxes or conveyors for gathering the biomass. The collected biomass can be composted and returned to the field, returning nutrients such as nitrogen and carbon to the soil.

Technology and Features

  • Effective Root Collection: The Root-Up 4000 collects weed roots using closely spaced tines on the rotor, which rotate against the direction of travel.

  • Soil Separation: The soil is efficiently separated from the roots on the cleaning conveyor.
  • Drying on the Soil Surface: The cleaned roots are evenly distributed on the soil surface with minimal soil coverage. This ensures rapid drying of the weeds, preventing regrowth of the roots.

  • Flexible Solutions: The machine can be equipped with collection boxes for direct biomass collection, which can be emptied as piles in the field. Alternatively, a collection conveyor can be installed to gather the biomass into a trailer or baler.

  • Utilization of Removed Nutrients: The collected biomass can be composted and then returned to the field, thereby returning the removed nitrogen and carbon.

Forest Cleanup

The Root-Up 4000 is highly effective for cleanup after a forestry tiller.

Large root pieces and stones are collected and cleaned of soil on the steel conveyor. They can be gathered in the boxes and easily piled at the edge of the field.

Utilize the Potential of Collected Biomass

The nitrogen and carbon stored in the collected plant material are not wasted. Through composting, the sprouting ability of the weed roots is eliminated, allowing them to be returned to the soil, where nitrogen and carbon can be reintroduced to the field.

The gas energy from the cleaned roots can be used for biogas production, generating green energy while the plant residues are converted into fertilizer, which can be returned to the field.

Beach Cleanup

The Root-Up 4000 is well-suited for collecting waste or organic material from beaches.

Collected seaweed from beaches has potential as a resource for developing future building materials. For example, harvested eelgrass can be transformed into insulation material.

Decaying seaweed emits a strong odor and breaks down into nitrogen, which is released back into the sea, acting as a fertilizer for algae blooms. This causes oxygen depletion and disrupts the natural marine fauna.
